How to Transfer all your phonebook contacts from your Blackberry phone to your Android phone

Often we do obtain/buy different devices for different purposes, Most of us have at one point in time  used Blackberry devices either at work or personally. Challenges often do occur when you try to move your contacts from your old device/phone to your new device (especially for those that have numerous contacts in there phone-book, and for those that do store/save their contacts on the phone memory).

A friend of my once have a blackberry phone, later he purchased an Android device and found myself at the point that he needed to move his contacts from the Blackberry device to the new Android device. He called my attention, we did few searches on how to transfer the contacts from BB to Android. I later got stuck at the point after transferring my contacts where the Android phone kept reporting "Couldn't import vcard". At this point I carried out more research and finally was able get the work done.
How did I do it?
Below are the steps you need to follow in order to successfully migrate/transfer contacts from a Blackberry device to an Android in the shortest possible time. Though not yet confirmed, but I feel this method should work for some other devices apart from blackberry and android.... Just give it a try.
  1. Go to the Blackberry network setting and Enable blue tooth.
  2. Pair your Blackberry device with your phone or PC (what matters is being logged into with GMail in a browser)
  3. Once pairing is complete, click your newly paired device, then press the BB menu button.
  4. From the menu select "Transfer Contacts"
  5. You will then see a notification stating how many contacts are being processed.
  6. Receive the VCard file (Phonebook.vcf) and save it - this file contains all your contacts.
  7. Now the final step is for you to log into the GMail account that your Android phone is synced with using any browser.
  8. Next, go to this address: http://www.google.com/contacts.
  9. You will see a menu on the left with a link to "import contacts".
  10. Once the file upload window prompt appears, select the .vcf file you received previously and upload.
That's all it takes to import your contacts to your new Android phone. You may also love to take a look on How to Install & Use BBM on lower versions of Android devices.

Have you done it?, Did it work for you?, Do you have any suggestion or question?, Do you have any other method of transfering contacts between two or more devices? ..... Please let us know about it via the comment box.
